Animation has always been a huge passion of mine, but I’ve always been focused on the body so I wanted to experiment and trial some animations based on still life pieces and products.
The Loewe balloon heels from their latest AW22 collection caught my eye as soon as I saw them. The colour, the shape and the comical nature attached to a pair of balloon heels was too much inspiration for me not to animate.
To add movement and narrative I thought to depict the heel being blown up as a balloon with it drifting off once it was filled. Creating a short and sweet gif that shows the product but also interesting content for social that would be hard to recreate in real life.
I also experimented with a Kenzo jumper animation showcasing the illustration from start to finish as if the jumper is being designed and coming to life.
Definitely going to keep experimenting with these ideas, finding it so fun to think of ways to bring life to inanimate objects through the art of animation.
